Chinese invasion barges seen in savage
I broke the story of the invasion barge in Naval News on January 10, 2025 (article and YouTube explanator). At that time, only satellite images were available (at least publicly). Now a short video has emerged that shows the barges that are exercised on a Chinese beach. The resulting images confirm the previous analysis; These are invasion barges.
The tests of the Mobile Mobile Gray Mobile Bars’ are seeingn demonstrating a landing through a beach near an important naval base. The beach is soft and is probably chosen for location and as a deliberately less challenging goal. In practice, barges are likely to be used on more pronounced and rocky beaches along the Taiwanese coast.
Interestingly, barges are shown at the end of the final height, and without the participation of the ferries. This can be purely for training purposes. The barge in the progress position is one of the smallest types, informally called type 2. This version does not have a cantilever load ramps in the stern to receive ro-ro ferrisses. So Possibly type 2 will be attached to one or the other of the largest that have load ramps. This would make the entire dock around 600-700m long!
